They are used for waterproofing expansion joints. Economical, easy and simple to apply, very flexible and elastic, the EPDM-S membrane is ideally suited for expansion joints. In accordance with relevant standards (French SNJF and ISO), the joint backing is a material that is laid to limit the depth of the sealant in the joint and to define the back profile of the joint. It stops the sealant from adhering to the three faces of the joint and helps to resist the pressures that occur when apply the sealant. The joint backing must not have any effects that will change the physical and chemical properties, and even the appearance, of the sealant. It can eventually serve as a barrier to separate the sealant for chemical attacks from the bottom side of the joint. Special waterproof expansion joint suitable roofs and car parks. Very flexible, suitable for use with hot asphalt. Compatible with PVC, EPDM and other waterproof membranes. The hydrophilic seal strip ensures the waterproof qualities of construction joints in buildings and as well as in the ground, in contact with water, whether pressurised or not. It is used in concrete construction joints by acting as a barrier to water seeping through. This waterproof performance is achieved by the swelling of the strip cast in the concrete when coming into contact with water. The swelling against the contact faces surrounding the strip produces a pressure between the strip and its enclosure that prevents the water seeping through the joint. The strip swelling is reversible. In other words, the strip expands in contact with water. In the absence of water, it dries out and regains its original shape. VEDASWEL Sealant is a hydrophilic waterproof sealant that can be applied in a wet environment. Supplied in cartridges, it is applied using a normal sealant gun. By doubling its volume when absorbing water, it provides an excellent waterproof performance without even loosing its elastic properties. VEDAFLEX SIL is a one-component silicone sealant of low modulus of elasticity and neutral cross-linkage. It vulcanises in contact with atmospheric moisture and forms a rubber that is extremely flexible and resistant. Non-corrosive, it does not produce substances with a strong odour. VEDAFLEX SIL has the SNJF mark as a 1st category product for use on glass, aluminium and concrete without primer. Pure epoxy resin sealant for use on reinforcement bar in concrete construction joints and for different bonds. Easy and quick to extrude. Very strong bond. Waterstops are made of elastomers of different characteristics. They are available in nitrile or flexible PVC (Vedaflex). Nitrile waterstops are characterised by a higher breaking elongation, excellent resistance to chemical agents as well as to ageing, and permanent elasticity that is comparable to that of rubber. Welded joints are very easy to produce. Flexible PVC waterstops are made from basic raw materials of high quality, but offer an economical solution. Waterstops are made of elastomers of different characteristics. They are available in nitrile or flexible PVC (Vedaflex). Nitrile waterstops are characterised by a higher breaking elongation, excellent resistance to chemical agents as well as to ageing, and permanent elasticity that is comparable to that of rubber. Welded joints are very easy to produce. Flexible PVC waterstops are made from basic raw materials of high quality, but offer an economical solution. Utilisation Water and vapour barrier for use on all normal construction materials: concrete, roof tiles, bricks, aluminium, metals, glass, timber (protected), PVC... It is recommended that there is no risk of water retention and that the strips are not subjected to high temperatures; the performance is reduced with the increase of temperature (maximum 80 °C). The contact adhesive VedEPDM EP95 is intended for use on concrete and for joining EPDM membranes. Apply the adhesive with a brush or a roll on the substrate and on the membrane, and wait several minutes. Then join the two parts covered with the adhesive, running a roll to ensure a good bond and the removal of air bubbles (see our installation instructions). EPDM-S membranes are bonded at both sides of expansion joints using our VedEPDM adhesives. They provide an effective barrier and can work in combination with any other waterproofing system. They are generally used below our fire barriers or below our joint covers and mechanical joints. Their high elasticity and the wide range of widths available allow their use in expansion joints of any size. They can work with drainage systems for the water that is collected. The joint backing is used as a permanent formwork when applying a sealant or any other finish. It is used to limit the depth of sealant that is applied. It is recommended for use with the following sealants: silicone, polyurethane, polysulphide, acrylic. Recommended by SNJF (French institute for the classification of plastic and elastomeric sealants) as air and water seal in construction, as well as a seal in formworks. For indoor and outdoor floor joints with a gap up to 80 mm. Suitable for waterproofing, generally by meeting the waterproofing system of the construction. Not suitable on its own for vehicular traffic, it needs to be suitably protected to allow any type of traffic. The base material must free from dust, oil and grease. Any loose material must be removed. Before applying the adhesive, ensure that the ambient temperature and the base material temperature are above 5 °C. Any stagnant water present must be removed before laying the hydrophilic seal strip. Normally, the hydrophilic seal strip is laid in the centre of the construction element when it has a maximum thickness of 400 mm; for greater thicknesses, two strips are required. Hydrophilic seal strips must ideally be glued using VEDA-SWELL hydrophilic sealant. Mechanical means of positioning can also be used. VEDASWELL sealant is very easy to use; it is applied with a gun as done with a conventional silicone. It is used for: concrete construction joints, gluing hydrophilic seal strip for construction joints, waterproofing around steel or plastic sections passing through walls, etc., bonding and levelling layer for hydrophilic seal strips... "VEDAFLEX SIL has excellent adherence to most of the common construction materials: glass, concrete, aluminium, PVC, etc. Recommended mainly for: - Sealing joints between concrete and structural elements. - Sealing joints around timber, metal and PVC fixtures. - Joints in light and heavy prefabrications. - Sealing joints in curtain walls. - Any application where an odourless sealant is required. - Sealed joints in industry (refrigeration, air conditioning, clean rooms...).
